Import Contacts

To realize the full value from Big Contacts, it is important to import all of your existing contact data. We offer multiple Data Import Packages to help you get off to a quick start.

Standard Contact Import

If you have an online address book or spreadsheet of contacts that you would like to import into BigContacts, we have developed a very easy to use Import Wizard that will give you step-by-step instructions on how to import your core contact data (name, address, email, phone, etc.) from some of the most widely-used programs on the market today.

Simply click on the "import contacts" link in the upper left hand section under the Contacts tab. This will start the import wizard. All you need to do is get your contact data into CSV (Excel) format and then run the wizard to import the data. Most programs, such as Microsoft Outlook, can export data in CSV form. There is NO charge for if you use our "self-serve" Import Wizard.

Custom Contact Import

If you have contact data and history stored in another Contact Management (CRM) system, we are here to help you make a seamless transition to BigContacts.  We can import all of your contact history from most any system on the market today.  You no longer have to feel like your data is being held hostage!

Level I Imports

Database Size:
Less than 500 MB of uncompressed contact data (not including file attachments)
Less than 10,000 contacts

Import Time-frame:
1) Receive import file from client.  After you save your contact data to a file, you can safely and securely send your files(s) to us using our secure file transfer service.

2) BigContacts provides a sample data set approximately 2 business days after receipt of file
(ACT data imports require an additional 1-2 business days for processing)

3) Client reviews and approves sample data set

4) BigContacts imports the full database approximately 2 business days after client approval

Level II Imports

Database Size:
Greater than 500 MB of uncompressed contact data (not including file attachments)
And/or greater than 10,000 contacts

Import Time-frame:
1) Receive import file from client
2) BigContacts provides a sample data set approximately 2 business days after receipt of file
(ACT data imports require an additional 1-2 business days for processing)
3) Client reviews and approves sample data set
4) BigContacts imports the full database approximately within 1-3 weeks after client approval
(actual time quote based on size of database)

Exporting Contacts

Unlike many systems on the market today, we believe in giving our clients immediate access to all their data. You can quickly and easily export all of your contacts, meetings, tasks, and all contact history with a few clicks of the mouse. This feature is a great way to create a local back up of all your data. This can provide you with some piece of mind in addition to several levels of redundancy already provided within our system

Common Program Imports

BigContacts regularly imports contacts and history from programs like ACT, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Salesforce.com, Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mac Address Book, Palm Desktop, Excel Files, Personal VCards, Yahoo! Mail, Google Mail, MSN Hotmail, GoldMine, CSV Files, Tabular Delimited Files, and many more.
